About Me

My photo
MicMic
I've been going around places not knowing where I am heading next. All I know is that I am seeking something which I don't even know. Salome Villaflor aka MicMic created this blog to share part of my adventures in Vietnam. Exerting efforts in putting all this together is my outlet of killing empty moments. In the absence of someone to share exclusive space with, life for me became all words, photographs, travel, and friends.

Hanoi 3H Red Dress Run

Hanoi 3H Red Dress Run
Runners of the Hanoi Hash House Harriers in their red dress after a 3-mile run in the countryside of northern Vietnam. Hash House Harriers, however, has a rule, which is beer after a run. A friend once described Hash runners as drunkards with running problem.

Fruits and Veggies Lady Vendors

Fruits and Veggies Lady Vendors
Don't you just love them? Trust me, those ladies are already happy with their $20.00 income a day. This was taken, by the way, in one of the streets of Hanoi during a Sunday afternoon walk around the city.

Fried Crickets with Cabbage

Fried Crickets with Cabbage
Exploring culture on food in Vietnam led me to Highway4 Restaurant in Hanoi where fried crickets with cabbage is a popular delicacy.

Fried Worms with Lemon Grass

Fried Worms with Lemon Grass
This tastes like someone peed on it. I prefer the live coconut worms dip in fish sauce. You’ll have fun chewing something that moves vehemently, obviously resisting from being eaten alive, just like fear factor.

Fried Grasshoppers with Lemon Grass

Fried Grasshoppers with Lemon Grass
I wanted more exotic than this like rats, cockroaches, pigeon heads, and barbequed beetles but those were not available when Simon and I celebrated our birthday on November 24
